Get ready to kick off the holiday season in style as we light up the iconic Castro Holiday Tree! We're excited to announce the official lighting of the Castro Holiday Tree, made possible through Castro Merchants Association and the generosity of our beloved benefactors.
This event officially marks the beginning of the holiday season in the Castro. Join us as we gather to strengthen our community bonds, and uplift our merchants by supporting their local businesses by shopping from them during the holidays.

We are excited to share two scary and fun days of ghouls and goblins on Saturday, October 28, and Sunday, October 29.
Saturday, October 28 | Castro Daytime Spooktacular
Event Highlights:
👻 Halloween Activations: Explore our streets as many merchants get into the spirit of Halloween! They'll be showcasing their spookiest, most creative, and delightful Halloween merchandise, decorations, and treats.
🍬 Trick or Treating for Kids: Kids are invited to roam the streets and collect treats at participating locations. It's a FANGtastic opportunity for kids to show off their costumes and fill their loot bags.
🎥 Halloween Movie Marathon: The Castro Theatre is your destination for a day filled with chills and thrills! They will be screening four Halloween classics throughout the day.
🧛♂️ Costume Contest at the Castro Theatre: Show off your spookiest Halloween attire. The contest will take place at 8:00 PM. Make sure your costume is bewitching! Admission of $5 includes a special 10pm screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show 👄. Costumes Get in Free! The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc. will host live from the Castro stage!

Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 29th at 11:00 AM, because Noe Street between Market and Beaver Street will be transformed into a frightfully fun haven for all ages, including our furry friends! Whether you're a little pumpkin or a seasoned witch, this event is perfect for everyone:
For the Kiddos (11 am to 2 pm)

• Trick or treating along Castro Participating Businesses
• Fun Halloween activities and giveaways
• Drag Queen Storytime and Performances 11am
• Children’s costume contest 12pm ! Grand Prize - Gift Card from Cliff's Variety Store!
• Arts & Crafts table
For Kids of All Ages (all day)
• Drag performances & Halloween activities
• Pet costume contest 2 pm – Grand Prize big Gift Basket from Jeffrey's Natural Pet Foods with lots of toys and treats worth $150!
• Adult costume contest 4 pm – Grand Prize $500 in cash
Bring the whole family down to experience Halloween as only the world-famous Castro can! Our host for the morning is the amazing Per Sia.
Show off your creativity and dress to impress in the most spellbinding costumes you can imagine. And don't forget about our Costume Contest! The chance to win fabulous prizes awaits those who dare to enter!
Folks (and pets) interested in competing in the costume contest should report to the main stage 15 minutes before their contest time.
